Exploring Cape Town

As part of the Gap Year South Africa Program we ensure that you have the chance to explore all of the best destinations in Cape Town and for The Swiss Medical Student Volunteers it was no different.

Doctors within South African Boarders

“Our first experience of the Hospital was quite an eye opener. False Bay hospital is so different in so many ways to the hospitals in Switzerland.

We are 4 medical students from the University of Geneva and we have come to South Africa to complete a Community Immersion Project.

Saturday was such a blast for the Celebrity Surf day by the Surf Emporium Muizenberg. They set up such an awesome event where we got to meet and great some of South Africas most famous sporting heroes. We showed them what we were made of in the surf, and afterwards we got so many epic spoils. Thank you Surf Emporium for having us there and spoiling us for the day. Thank you Gap Year South Africa volunteers and staff for making sure that we arrived alive. Thank You Andrew B. Perry for organizing that we participate and investing your time and energy into our lives. We couldn't thank any of you enough :)

Thank you James for writing this review for #gapyearsouthafrica "GYSA consistently went above and beyond my expectations throughout my time here. There are lots of volunteering opportunities given, and the staff are very flexible regarding any potential needs that you may have. I personally volunteered to work with the local schools within the area, and the opportunity allowed me to meet so many amazing people from different backgrounds while hopefully changing their lives for the better. Food and transportation are accommodated for on weekdays, and occasionally on weekends, but if it is not available there are plenty of options for public transport and things to do in town. Everyone there was very welcoming and I know that I’ll have a lot of lifelong friends after I leave. The experience all in all was fantastic and definitely helped me to grow as a result." #gapyear #gaphouse #gapprogram #gapyearsouthafrica #volunteers #volunteer #volunteering #teaching #teach #southafrica #volunteersouthafrica #testimonial #review ...
