Now is the time to secure your place at the largest single sports event in the world. This exciting global football event will kick off on 11th June 2010 and incorporate 64 matches across 9 diverse cities. Gap Year South Africa is offering you the unique opportunity to visit a major global competition whilst undertaking an enjoyable and fulfilling volunteer project.
There are 6 matches due to be held in our host city of Port Elizabeth, only a short distance from our accommodation and there will be opportunity to travel to other host cities and take in the incredible atmosphere of the first African Football World Cup.
During your project you will be assisting local teachers and delivering coaching sessions for children of varying ages and abilities in your chosen project at a number of our under-resourced partner schools in local communities. Through your energetic presence at our partner schools you will be adding immense value to the lives of underprivileged children. You will be volunteering alongside teachers from the community with an opportunity to learn a great deal from their experiences and in turn community teachers will also benefit a great deal from your experiences.
In addition to your project, you will have the opportunity to play sports for our local teams. This is a great opportunity to experience sports abroad and emerge yourself in the local culture.
