All Gap Year South Africa Programs include local TOURS in the package because we want you to experience ALL that Cape Town has to offer. Check out the Tours below that are included in your Gap Year South Africa Program Packages and have a look at the Travel Packages that are available at an additional cost.

All of our Tours are seasonal/weather dependent and rotate through a 12 week cycle - so depending on when you arrive you will join in on the fun - check which dates your trip fall on and you can see what you we will be exploring whilst you are with us.

Tours are Bi-Weekly meaning every second week a tour runs, and every alternative week we have some recommendations for you to explore Cape Town on your own steam but with local knowledge and know how.

Stellenbosch Wine Tour

Within an hours drive you can exchange the laid back Cape Peninsula for the charming landscapes, old Victorian style towns and bucolic estates of the Winelands destinations such as Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek. Coupling chocolate & cheese tastings you will learn the difference between wines and distinguish their tastes, whilst sampling some of the worlds most renowned wines. A day of breath taking views, sophisticated fun and a cultural exploration.

Robben Island Tour

A blast from the past, Robben Island Tour sets off from the V&A waterfront as you hop on a fast boat over to robben Island, famous for its prison that kept some of apartheids political heroes, such as Nelson Mandela. Begin to learn about South Africa’s haunting past and what makes our country such an interesting place and Celebrate in our victory as you understand how far we have come through challenges that we have faced.

Table Mountain & Lions Head Tour

If you dare to climb the ladder thats scales the mountain wall during the full moon pilgrimage up Lions Head then your in for wondrous site of the City lights of Cape Town under the glow of the full moon rising.

Table Mountain is done by day as we venture up Skeleton Gorge through the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens or we scale Platteklip Gorge, but either way the panoramic views of Cape Town are out of this world and the Cable Car ride down is a whimsical cherry on top of the day.

Cape Point Tour

The Cape Peninsula Tour involves Simons town, boulders board walk, dears beach and a walk to light house along the top of the mountains boasting panoramic views of both the Atlantic and Indian Ocean in all its glory. The exciting wildlife spotted on this tour includes penguins, baboons, ostriches, whales and variations of African antelope - “bokkies”.

Red City Bus Tour

Hop on and off of the Red City Open Bus as you explore some of the Capes finest offerings. Walks through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Constantia Nek Wine Tasting, Watch the seals play at Hout Bay Harbor and be blown away by the stunning views of the coast along the Atlantic sea board, maybe you feel like braving the crystal clear water and having a dip in the Atlantic ocean. This tour starts and ends at the V&A Waterfront so you also have the option of shopping, eating at restuarants and exploring the city center.

Down Town Tours

Wether it's Bicycle Rides along the Seaport Promenade, breakfast at the Old Biscuit Mill, a trip back in time to the District Six Museum, souvenir shopping on Green Market Square or a guided walk through the bokaap, there are plenty of ways to experience and explore Down Town Cape Town. Depending on the season there is so much to see and do and the city is alive.
